Matthew Hayes presents platform outline events

Matthew Hayes, Mayoral candidate for Fredericton, is outlining two of his platform points at two media events this week. He will start with “Complete Communities”, which focuses on implementing practices to strengthen Fredericton’s neighbourhoods. Hayes will follow with his plan for “Open and Transparent Government”, which calls for accountability of government and encourages public engagement in City Council’s decisions.

Matthew Hayes is a passionate Frederictonian with a responsible and positive vision for our city. He has a track record of leadership in the public sector and works with grassroots community groups. In the 1990s he worked in Parliament and currently teaches about economics, politics, and how globalization affects local communities. Like many New Brunswickers who have returned to the province, Hayes wants to be part of a community where we want to raise children, where people know and trust their neighbours, and where healthy lifestyles are part of the very fabric of the city. His Fredericton roots run deep.

WHEN: Complete Communities – Tuesday, April 3rd at 4:30 PM
Open and Transparent Government – Thursday, April 5th at 2:00 PM

WHERE: Complete Communities – Brookside Mall parking lot, 435 Brookside Drive
Open and Transparent Government – City Hall, 397 Queen Street

Complete Communities - Fredericton is a small city, but its residents are paying big city prices to live in it. Matthew Hayes will outline his plan for Complete Communities, which encourages a strong local economy and makes each neighbourhood more liveable.

Open and Transparent Government - Matthew Hayes believes that there is an opportunity to further engage the public in the City Council’s decisions. He will explain his approach to making local government more open and transparent, which enables Fredericton to become a great example for the quality of life.
