Natural Resources Minister Bruce Northrup attended day 2 of the conference in Moncton. He listened to discussions on regulatory frameworks in relation to public interest, and heard experts speak on the subject of finding a proper balance between the environment and economy.
Northrup didn't speak at the podium, but he took the time to talk to media. Along with being pleased with the forum, Northrup said he believed New Brunswickers are gradually coming around to accepting the industry will be good for the province.
Since shale gas company SWN announced it was suspending seismic testing operations this summer due to a hold up in the province granting work permits, the Minister was asked the reason for the delay and gives his answer.
